ABOUT NEW YORK COACH-MAKER'S MAGAZINE

The first issue of the New York Coach-Maker's Magazine appeared in June 1858 ... a magazine which states its devotion to "the literary, social and mechanical interests of the craft" and was aimed at the proprietors of coach shops.

Numerous literary articles were featured along with those directly related to the craft of coach-making. Cartoons, humorous sketches, pricing of materials were included in a typical issue. Each issue also contained plates illustrating a variety of coaches.

On March 15, 1871, The New York Coach-Maker's Magazine merged with The Hub and ceased independent publication.

Volume Two, Volume Eleven and Volume Twelve are on this cd.

VOLUME TWO:
Volume 2 covers the period June 1859 through to May 1860. It contains a total of 298 pages including 47 plates and the index. This volume has been scanned in black and white rather than the yellowed pages of the other two volumes. You can see the difference in the images and pages shown in the listing.

VOLUME ELEVEN:
Volume 11 of the New York Coach-Maker's magazine contains a total of 240 pages including 46 plates and the index to the volume. This volume covers the period June, 1869 through to May, 1870. In volume 11, the top half of pages 31 and 32 are missing.

VOLUME TWELVE:
Volume 12 runs for 9 issues. After this it merged with The Hub and ceased as an independent publication. You will most likely notice that the numbering goes awry in the February 1871 issue which starts at page 145 rather than the expected page 129. Worry ye not! There does not appear to be any pages missing as these all match up with what is in the index. Rather, the numbering is simply incorrect. I have numbered the pdf as per the book pagination so that the index is matched.Volume 12 contains a total of 181 pages including 35 plates and the index.
